Stats:
Whiteout Survival, troops have seven distinct stats, each influencing their role and performance in different ways. Hereās a breakdown of these stats and their significance:
- Power: This stat doesnāt affect troop performance in battles. Instead, it reflects the amount of power added to your account when you train that troop. Higher-level troops contribute more power.
- Defense: Think of this as the troopās armor. It absorbs damage from enemies, preventing them from directly harming the troopās health until the defense is reduced to zero.
Attack: This is the basic damage a troop can inflict. However, itās limited by the enemyās defense; no health damage is dealt until the opposing troopās defense is depleted. - Health: Essentially the HP of a troop. Once this reaches zero, the troop is defeated and removed from the battle.
- Lethality: A unique stat that allows a troop to bypass enemy defense and deal damage directly to their health, making it particularly useful against high-defense opponents.
- Speed: This uniform stat of 11 for all troops determines their movement speed in battles. Note that itās different from Wilderness March Speed, which affects travel time on the map.
- Load: Relevant for looting and gathering, this stat indicates how much a troop can carry. Troops with higher load stats can gather resources or loot cities more efficiently, requiring fewer units to clear a spot.
Mechanics:
Heroes play different roles depending on the battle type. Understanding the difference between Expedition and Exploration is key to building smart strategies.
š Exploration:
Hero-focused battles where skills deal direct damage. Troops stay in the backgroundāstrategy depends on Hero choice and synergy.
Hall of Chiefs | Crazy Joe |
King of Icefield | Fishing Tournament |
Ginaās Revenge | Treasure Hunter |
Arena | Lucky Wheel |
Exploration | State of Power |
Bear Hunt | Tundra Trade Route |
Brothers in Arms | Alliance Showdown |
Forstfire Mine | Flame and Fangs |
Alliance Championship | Fortress Battles |
š© Expedition:
Turn-based battles where troops do the main work, and Heroes support with passive skills. Infantry absorbs damage up front; ranged units strike from behind.
Expedition Hero Roles, Rally Joining, Defending, Beast Hunting, Calling Rallies in the correct hero and correct formation, etc is all included.
ā”Ā Training
Click for the Perfect Training tactic..
Speedups help, but training speed buffs are the real game-changer. Over time, they drastically reduce troop training time.
Ways to boost training speed:
- šļø Daybreak Island: Decorations like Barbecue Stand (+5% speed at max level)
- š§ Academy: Research like Training Tools
- š Buff: Buy 2h Training Capacity Enhance (+200% speed for 2 hours, costs 3,000 Gems)
- šļø Buildings: Upgrade Troop Training Building
š” Pro Tip: Focus on permanent buffs firstādecorations, research, and building upgrades.
Use the 2h Gem buff only during high-volume training sessions to maximize value.
š§Ā Promotion
Weāve already covered the importance of troop promotion in our PvP and Beginner Guidesābut itās worth repeating: promote your troops!
- Low-level units become ineffective as your account progresses, especially against stronger enemies.
- Deploying outdated troops can backfireāthey clog your Hospital and put high-level units at risk.
- Promotion keeps your army competitive and efficient in both offense and defense.
- The cost of promotion is simply the difference in resource cost between the current and target levelāso thereās usually no extra cost.
š” Pro Tip: Promote low-level troops regularly to avoid clogging your Hospital and risking high-level units.
Promotion costs are minimalājust the resource difference between levels
š„Ā Healing
Batch healing is the keyāheal small groups to use Alliance help and save speedups.
Healing everything at once after a big fight is slow and costly.
Infirmary capacity matters, especially in PvP.
Upgrade your Infirmary, boost capacity through research and Daybreak Island Decorations to avoid losing troops permanently.
š” Pro Tip: Always heal in batches and use Alliance help to reduce timers.
Keep your Infirmary upgraded to avoid losing high-level troops permanently.
āļøĀ Ratios
Choosing the right troop ratio is key in PvPābut thereās no one-size-fits-all answer.
- In PvE, itās simple:
- Bear Hunt: Send 10% Infantry 10% Lancers 80% Marksmen for max damage
- Crazy Joe: Reinforce with 100% Infantry to protect allies
- In PvP, ratios depend on enemy composition and strategy.
- Example: 50 20 30 = 50% Infantry, 20% Lancers, 30% Marksmen
- More Infantry is commonāthey absorb damage so others can deal it
š”Pro Tip Follow your Allianceās ratio calls in PvPātheyāre based on real-time strategy. Use more Infantry when unsureātheyāre your frontline shield.
šĀ Deployment Capacity
A higher deployment capacity means more troops in battleāstronger attacks, better defense.
Main factors:
- Hero levels
- Command Centre level
Boost it further with:
- š§ Academy Research
- šļø Island Decorations that increase capacity
š” Pro Tip Level up your Heroes and Command Centre firstāthey give the biggest boost.
